Necessary for probing the moon and intercepting dangerous asteroids! The Space Probe launches Moon Probes- Intercepts Dangerous Asteroids-Repels Unfriendly Space Objects. These are the words describing the actions of the Space Probe Launcher on it's original blister card.

This "silver/gray" colored launcher with it's spring loaded barrel was without the "blast" from a cap load. It came with two "red" probes tipped in "black" rubber to fire off across the lunar terrain. Perhaps getting stuck in the kitchen sink. With a flexible rubber hand held control cable allowing an astronaut to operate in any position.

This pak also included the chemical decontamination gun, a two piece gun for neutralizing Radioactivity. The gun and tanks are attached by a black hose. You could really fill the tanks with water to fire over any harmful radiation. Or spray kool-aid and goofy grape all over mom's nice coffee table. Also this was a chance to get two other small handheld rarities. A flare gun and binoculars. Each chromed with "black" painted accents. These are among the first items most always lost somewhere in the dust by the "Sea of Storms".

All the above came packaged on one 8 1/2" x 12" blister card. This card features two different photos showing Matt and crew using the equipment.

In standard pack of 1 doz. Wt. 3lbs. per case.

The probe launcher is the most fragile of the four launchers. Most always cracked somewhere, or broken into pieces, a bad rusty firing spring, etc. And if the probes are anywhere to be found, the "black" rubber tips usually are no more.

Like some other accessory parts (Moon Suit arms) the tips on these hardened and crumbled with age, if they were not just lost.

The chemical gun also is also likely to be damaged by what in the toy collecting field is known as "melting". Where the "black" hose makes it's connection to the gun, the nipple it attaches to, simply melts and softens by chemical reaction. See level 3 under repairs and restoration about "melting".

The Space Probe Pak could also have been purchased in the "Sears" exclusive
#6327 Astro Trac Missile Convoy Set.
The chemical gun and tanks were also later included in the
#6347 Space Travel Pak.
